3. Mobility in vocational education and training (VET)

Mobility abroad can help young people in vocational education and training to gain the skills needed for today's competitive employment market.

Upper secondary students in vocational training schools, traineesand apprentices may complete a traineeship or apprenticeship abroad,hosted in a company, a workplace (e.g. NGO, public organisation) orvocational school, with a period of work-based learning in a company.Traineeships may last from two weeks to one year.

Also, recent graduates of a VET school or company (i.e. formerapprentices) may participate in a mobility activity. Recent graduatesmust undertake their traineeship abroad within one year ofqualifying.
