Student grants
Need- and merit-based grants are available to home and international students, both full-time and part-time. The age limit is 30 for undergraduate students and 35 for graduate students. Eurydice figures cover grants from the main public institution responsible for higher education grants: in 2023/24 the most common need-based and merit-based grant was about EUR 815 a year. Many other public institutions also give grants, but there is no data on them. A grant cannot be combined with a state loan.Loans
Publicly subsidised loans are available to full-time home students only, up to the age of 30 for undergraduates and 35 for graduate students. A loan cannot be combined with a grant. The source does not give loan amounts, repayment terms or the share of borrowers for 2023/24.
