Additional notes:
(¹)In the last year of post-compulsory upper general secondary education, classes end up two, three or four weeks earlier than in the rest of stages. This time is used to prepare the university admission examinations (and final evaluation of Bachillerato, among others).

(2) In the Autonomous Community of Aragón: in upper general secondary education, the beginning is 15 September. In the Autonomous Community of Cataluña: in lower and upper general secondary education, the beginning may be delayed until 14 September. In the Autonomous Community of Extremadura: in upper general secondary education, the beginning is 14 September and, regarding the end, the deadline date will be determined using a circular. In the Autonomous Community of Madrid: 1st grade of general secondary education begins on 12 September while the rest of grades begin on 13 September.

(3)In the Autonomous Community of Cantabria: days 31 October, 2-4 November and 23, 24, 27 and 28 February are not considered school days.

(4) In the Autonomous Community of Región de Murcia: the beginning and end periods vary according to municipalities. In fact, these belong to the earlier beginning day, in some municipalities, and to the latest end day, among other.

(5)In these Autonomous Communities, schools are free to establish their own calendar taking into account the limit starting and ending dates established by the educational authorities.
