Beginning of the academic year

1 October is assumed as the official start of the new academic year. However, due to the autonomy of higher education institutions (HEIs), starting dates vary from one institution to another.

End of the academic year

HEIs are autonomous. The academic year generally ends between end-June and mid-July.
