National student fee
In Albania all students pay fees, in the first, second and short cycle; in 2023/24 this was 100% of students. Each higher education institution sets its own fees, and the amount depends on the cycle, the field of study and the type of programme. International students pay the same as home students.
Higher fees apply to students who take longer than the normal study period, students on places not subsidised by the state, students in programmes taught in a foreign language and students in certain disciplines. There are no fee waivers or reductions.Student grants
Need-based grants are the only form of direct financial support in Albania. They are available to home full-time students in the first cycle and to home part-time students in the first and second cycle. Grants are paid for the academic year, and there is no age limit. Eurydice has no data on grant amounts or on how many students receive them for 2023/24.Loans
There are no publicly subsidised student loans.Tax benefit for student's parents
