Sweden 2023/24 - student fees and grants | Home students in Sweden don't pay tuition fees. International students have to pay, unless they come as exchange students. Fee levels are not regulated nationally and there are no comprehensive statistics: each university sets its fees itself so that they cover the full cost, which means they differ by field of study and type of programme. Short-cycle programmes are not offered. Some international students can get their fees waived or reduced. Two government scholarship schemes, run by UHR and the Swedish Institute, cover the whole tuition fee and living costs. The Swedish Institute's scholarships target students from certain development-cooperation countries and from low- and middle-income countries. |
