Student grants

Serbia offers merit-based grants to full-time home students, with no age limit. In 2023/24 they ranged from EUR 1,109 to EUR 2,559 a year, most commonly EUR 1,109. No need-based or universal grants are described, and there is no national grant system for international students – apart from the World in Serbia programme, for which a candidate must be nominated by their own government. A grant cannot be combined with a state loan.

Loans

Publicly subsidised loans are available to full-time first-cycle home students who study on a state-funded place at a public institution. There is no age limit, and a loan cannot be combined with a grant. The loan covers 10 equal monthly instalments; the source does not give amounts or repayment rules for 2023/24.
