Student grants
Denmark offers a universal grant to home full-time students; international students qualify only if they hold Danish citizenship, and then on the same terms. There is no age limit, but your own income must stay under a monthly ceiling (DKK 18,412 in 2023, DKK 19,056 in 2024), and if you live with your parents the grant depends on their income. Grants are taxable and paid monthly, 12 months a year.
In 2024 the grant was DKK 1,060 to 6,820 a month (DKK 12,720 to 81,840 a year), with the maximum also being the most common amount; students living with their parents got DKK 1,060 to 2,940 a month. In euros, Eurydice data for 2023/24 give EUR 1,649 to EUR 10,612 a year, most commonly EUR 10,612. About 94% of first-cycle and 87% of second-cycle home students receive the grant.
