National student fee

Studying in Denmark is free for home students and for full-time students from the EU/EEA/EFTA, no matter how long your studies take. Fees do not depend on your field of study or programme, and there are no waivers or reductions, simply because there is nothing to waive.

International students from outside the EU/EEA/EFTA do pay fees, unless they hold Danish citizenship. Each institution sets these fees to cover what the studies actually cost; Eurydice gives no amounts.

Denmark has no official part-time student status. Part-time programmes exist only in adult and continuing higher education, and students there pay fees.

Source: Eurydice, National Student Fee and Support Systems in European Higher Education – reference year 2023/24 (data published in 2025). Amounts in EUR per year for home, full-time students; country details as described by Eurydice. Earlier editions: 2013/14, 2015/16 and 2016/17. The United Kingdom no longer takes part in Eurydice, so its entries end in 2016/17.
