National student fee
In Czechia you do not pay regular tuition fees. Every student pays only an admission fee once per study cycle: in 2023/24 it was at most CZK 931, and usually about CZK 750 (roughly CZK 500 to 900, depending on the institution). International students follow the same rules as Czech students. There is no part-time status and there are no short-cycle programmes.
You will pay more in two cases. If you study more than one year beyond the standard length of your programme, you pay a fee for the extra time: the legal minimum is CZK 13,971, a typical amount is around CZK 58,000, and the usual range is CZK 40,000 to 100,000 depending on the field, as there is no legal maximum. In 2023, 8.6% of students paid this fee. Programmes taught in a foreign language can also charge fees, set freely by each institution; nearly 4% of students paid them.
In general there are no waivers, but the Rector can reduce or waive the extended-study fee because of your social situation or good academic results.
