Winter holidays: no carnival or February break in Madrid, Catalonia or the Valencian Community; in Málaga (Andalusia) "Semana Blanca" 22–26 February 2027.

Regions of the country

Education is devolved to the autonomous communities. Four examples:

Madrid: start 7 September 2026 (infant 2nd cycle, primary, special), 8 September (ESO, Bachillerato, vocational training, music and dance conservatoires, official language schools), 9 September (higher arts education), 21 September (adult education); end 18 June 2027 (official language schools 25 June 2027); Christmas 23 December 2026 – 6 January 2027, plus 7–8 January 2027; Easter 20–28 March 2027; other non-teaching days 12 and 15 February, 19 and 29 March 2027; summer holidays from 1 July 2027. Local holidays are not included.

Catalonia: start 8 September 2026 (infant, primary, ESO, Batxillerato, basic vocational training; intermediate and higher vocational training by 14 September; adult education and language schools by 21 September); end 21 June 2027 (Batxillerato first year 17 June 2027); Christmas 22 December 2026 – 7 January 2027; Easter 20–29 March 2027. No carnival or autumn break. Each school may add four free-choice days.

Andalusia: set by provincial resolutions. Start 10 September 2026 (infant 2nd cycle, primary, special), 15 September (ESO, Bachillerato, vocational training, adult education), 21 September (language schools); end of classes Granada 22 June, Cádiz 23 June, Málaga 24 June 2027 (2nd-year Bachillerato 24 May 2027); Christmas 23 December 2026 – 6 January 2027 (Cádiz until 8 January); Easter 22–28 March 2027; Málaga "Semana Blanca" 22–26 February 2027. Seville is not covered here.

Valencian Community: start 9 September 2026; end 18 June 2027; Christmas 22 December 2026 – 6 January 2027; Easter 25 March – 5 April 2027.

Public holidays: 12 October 2026, 8 December 2026, 25 December 2026, 1 January 2027, 6 January 2027, 26 March 2027 and 1 May 2027 apply nationwide. Regional additions or substitutions: 2 November 2026 and 7 December 2026 (Andalusia and Madrid); 19 March 2027 (Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, Navarre, Valencian Community); 25 March 2027 (all regions except Catalonia and the Valencian Community); 29 March 2027 (Catalonia, Valencian Community); 16 August 2027 (Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Canary Islands, Castile and Leon, Madrid); 11 September 2026, 26 December 2026 and 24 June 2027 (Catalonia); 9 October 2026 (Valencian Community); 1 March 2027 (Andalusia). Each municipality adds two local holidays.
